📰 R&B Star Jaheim Arrested For Animal Cruelty—Again

Three-time Grammy-nominated singer Jaheim is back in the headlines, and not for his music.

The “Put That Woman First” singer was arrested on May 1 in Fulton County, Georgia, and charged with six counts of animal cruelty.

According to court documents, Jaheim—whose full name is Jaheim Hoagland—is accused of failing to provide his dogs with clean water, proper ventilation, and sanitary living conditions.

🐾 Details Of The Current Charges

The charges stem from the treatment of six dogs allegedly owned by Jaheim:

  • Tweet – Pit Bull Terrier
  • Tip – French Bulldog
  • Taka – Hound Mix
  • Tink – Pit Bull Terrier
  • Timber – Pit Bull Terrier
  • Tanger – Pit Bull Terrier

Jaheim was released from Fulton County Jail the following day, but the accusations have reignited public concern—especially because this isn’t the first time the singer has faced such charges.

🔁 History Repeats: Jaheim’s 2021 Animal Cruelty Arrest

R&B singer Jaheim's mugshot from his animal cruelty arrest in New Jersey in September 2021

Back in September 2021, Jaheim was arrested in Hillsborough, New Jersey, after authorities found more than a dozen dogs in alarming conditions.

Police initially responded to a call about a puppy in distress and discovered six dogs in outdoor crates, one of which was found unresponsive in a crate filled with water and had to be euthanized.

Several crates were reportedly soiled with feces and filled with inches of water.

Officers then found nine more dogs inside the home, many of them emaciated and without access to food or water.

In total, authorities recovered 15 dogs from Jaheim’s property, including Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and a mixed breed Boxer.

He was charged with third-degree animal cruelty and failure to provide necessary care, and was held at the Somerset County Jail.

While Jaheim has remained publicly silent on the recent Georgia charges, animal rights advocates and fans alike are voicing disappointment and frustration.

With this being his second run-in with law enforcement over animal cruelty, many are calling for accountability and stricter consequences if the allegations are proven true.

As a reminder, all charges are accusations, and Jaheim is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

📌 If You Suspect Animal Abuse…

If you or someone you know suspects animal cruelty, don’t hesitate to contact your local animal control agency or humane society.

At this point, Jaheim isn’t fit to care for a goldfish—let alone a dog.

  1. Oh my goodness! Now see, if he is found guilty again there needs to be something put in place that no other animal can be put in his care. I’m sorry but this is so cruel and uncalled for.
