Idris Elba slid into the streets of Instagram on Sunday (July 18) with a suggestion for social media companies when it comes to verifying users.
If you parlay on social media, you are well aware that Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook uses a blue check mark to “verify” the accounts of celebrities, businesses, musicians, and public figures.
But, Idris is suggesting the popular social media companies take it a step further by verifying everyone’s identity to lift the veil on spammers, racists, and trolls.
In a statement, Idris said:
If cowards are being supported by the veil of privacy and secrecy, then social media is not a safe space. It is an airplane that allows travelers to wear balaclavas.

I totally agree with Idris Elba… especially considering the amount of trolls I deal with on a daily basis.
