Crystal Knighting, an Idaho teacher, is being regarded as a hero for saving lives after a sixth-grade student opened fire inside Rigby Middle School.

According to police, a sixth-grade girl pulled a handgun out of her book bag on Thursday and started shooting inside Rigby Middle School.

She then made her way outside and continued shooting.

Yandel Rodriguez, who is also in the sixth-grade, recounted the scary event.

Me and my classmate were just in class with our teacher, we were doing work, and then all of a sudden, there was a loud noise and then there were two more loud noises.

Then there was screaming.

Our teacher went to check it out, and he found blood.

The Idaho teacher disarmed the student, and detained her until police arrived.

Two students and a custodian were injured and rushed to the hospital.

The alleged shooter is in custody, but the motive is still unknown.

Thanks to the bravery of the Idaho teacher no lives were lost.
