In a deeply emotional Instagram post on Tuesday (October 21), actor Hosea Chanchez revealed that his father, Ephraim Bristow, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident early Saturday morning in Montgomery, Alabama.
According to WSFA 12 News, police responded to the 4400 block of Troy Highway around 5 a.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian being struck.
When officers arrived, they discovered 67-year-old Ephraim Bristow deceased at the scene.
The driver responsible had fled before law enforcement arrived, leaving Bristow’s family and community heartbroken and searching for answers.
Hosea Chanchez Pays Emotional Tribute To His Father
Hosea took to Instagram to honor his father’s memory and share his grief in an emotional and heartfelt message.
The star of “The Game” described his dad as “the life of every party,” a man deeply loved by those around him despite his struggles with addiction.
“The first person any boy wants to be is his father,” Hosea wrote. “Not all heroes wear capes; some wear Afros and leather boots, mine did. My father was, can’t believe I just typed was.”
He opened up about the pain of watching his father battle addiction, calling it a “foreign entity” that took over a kind, God-fearing man raised with love and integrity.
Hosea’s post captured the raw heartbreak of losing someone who was both flawed and deeply cherished.
Hosea shared that his father was struck and dragged more than a block before the driver sped away.
“He didn’t deserve that. What a sad world we live in. I can’t even believe someone would do this to him. My father.”
