Alaina Saulsberry & Muneera Page Dish On “Heart & Hustle: Houston”—And Why This Series Hits Different

Frens, if you’ve been begging for a reality series that actually uplifts Black women while still bringing the heat, look no further. OWN’s “Heart & Hustle: Houston” is here—and it’s bringing a fresh mix of ambition, authenticity, and real sisterhood.

I had the absolute pleasure of catching up with two of the show’s stars—beauty mogul Alaina Saulsberry and content creator Muneera Page—before the premiere, and let me tell you… these women are the real deal.

From balancing motherhood and marriage to navigating their glow-ups with grace, Alaina and Muneera are giving viewers a front-row seat to the joys and the juggle.

🧡 Behind The Hustle: Alaina’s Story

If you’re not already hip to Alaina Saulsberry—aka “H-Town’s Glam Girl”—you’re about to be.

As CEO of Color du Jour, Alaina’s built an empire from the ground up, all while being a devoted mom and wife.

But don’t let the polished Instagram posts fool you.

“There is pain behind this hustle… I wear a smile to put on for my brand, but I’m human and trying to figure it out.”

Alaina’s been married to her high school sweetheart for 15 years, and she’s refreshingly honest about what it takes to juggle love, legacy, and leadership.

“It’s tough. Working with my spouse, being present all the time—it’s really tough. But I just want other women to see themselves in me and know they can do it too.”

⚡️Muneera’s Power Pivot: From STEM To Spotlight

Now let’s talk about “Mrs. Perfect”—aka Muneera Page.

After 20 years in electrical engineering (yes, 20!), she traded hard hats and pipelines for photo shoots and brand deals—and made it look flawless.

“People see me and start doing math: ‘Wait… you were an engineer for 20 years?!’ But I just laugh and say, yup.”

Muneera opened up about how isolating it was to be a stylish, vibrant Black woman in the oil and gas industry.

Social media became her escape—and eventually, her calling.

“I love fashion, beauty, and hair. But that wasn’t acceptable in those spaces. Social media gave me room to show who I really am.”

And she’s still giving credit where it’s due.

“Education is important. That’s something no one can take from you—especially as a Black woman.”

🤝 Sisterhood Over Shade

So let’s keep it real. A lot of reality shows say they’re about unity, but end up serving mess on a silver platter. “Heart & Hustle: Houston” wants to flip that script.

“It’s okay to have differences of opinion,” Muneera said. “You don’t have to fight for everything. We’re showing that conflict can lead to growth—not chaos.”

Alaina agrees and isn’t afraid to admit that even boss babes bump heads sometimes.

“We all have dominant personalities, but tough conversations bring understanding. That’s how you build real connection.”
