Halle Bailey Secures Sole Custody Of Son Amid Allegations Against DDG

In a dramatic turn of events, Halle Bailey, the star of The Little Mermaid, has been granted both legal and physical custody of her 16-month-old son, Halo Saint.

This ruling follows a series of allegations made against her ex-boyfriend, rapper DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.), whom she claims subjected her to physical and emotional abuse.

The 25-year-old singer and actress requested sole custody of Halo after alleging that DDG had a history of abusive behavior, including threats and control tactics.

Court documents obtained by PEOPLE reveal that Bailey sought to protect her son from further harm, including seeking a temporary restraining order that requires DDG to remain at least 100 yards away from her and Halo.

This order is set to expire on June 4, 2025, when a final court hearing will take place.

Allegations Of Abuse & Custody Arrangements

In her request for full custody, Bailey highlighted instances of abuse and expressed her deep concern for her son’s safety.

While she asked for DDG to have no visitation rights, she did agree to allow supervised visits, to be conducted once a week by a professional service.

Bailey also filed for restrictions to prevent DDG from taking Halo out of Los Angeles County, citing previous incidents where she alleges DDG had attempted to withhold or hide their son from her.

Bailey’s court filings further revealed that she is seeking an order preventing DDG from obtaining a passport for Halo or traveling with him without her explicit written consent.

She has requested that if he does travel, DDG must provide detailed travel information, including the itinerary, contact details, and an open return ticket for her in case their son isn’t returned.

Moving Forward: A Call For Safety & Stability

Bailey, who has expressed her exhaustion over the ongoing situation, explained in court filings that she had done everything she could to avoid legal action.

However, she stated, “I cannot keep living like this,” emphasizing that the situation had become unbearable and unsafe for her and her child.

The final custody determination will be made at the June court hearing.

This ruling marks a significant step in Halle Bailey’s battle for her son’s well-being and safety, as she continues to navigate life as both a mother and a public figure.
