🥊 Gervonta “Tank” Davis Arrested On Battery Charge In Miami Beach
WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis is once again making headlines—this time, not for his knockout power in the ring, but for another legal issue.
The 30-year-old boxer was arrested early Friday morning in Miami Beach and is facing a battery charge following an alleged domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend of four years.
According to WPLG Local 10, the arrest stems from an incident on Father’s Day when Davis allegedly assaulted the mother of two of his three children outside of her Doral home.
Sports talk host Andy Slater was the first to break the news, reporting that Davis is “accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend on the back of the head and slapping her.”
He was taken into custody in Miami Beach and transported to Doral by police.
As of now, Davis is being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with his bond listed as “to be set,” according to Miami-Dade County inmate records.
⚖️ A History Of Legal Troubles
This is not Davis’ first brush with the law.
Over the years, the boxing star has developed a pattern of legal run-ins that include domestic violence allegations and a string of traffic offenses.
In December 2022, Davis was arrested after allegedly striking a woman with a “closed hand type slap.”
That case was eventually dropped.
While Davis remains undefeated in the ring, his reputation outside of it continues to take hit after hit—and this latest arrest may be the most serious yet.

Prior to the arrest, Davis had been rumored to be gearing up for a rematch with Lamont Roach Jr. after their controversial majority draw back in March left fans divided.
The rematch was reportedly being targeted for August, but Premier Boxing Champions has yet to confirm or officially announce the bout.
Now, with this recent arrest looming over him, Davis’ return to the ring—and his future in boxing—could be on hold.
