Georgia YMCA Regrets Opening Summer Camp After 231 Kids Contract COVID-19 (Video)

A Georgia YMCA (Camp High Harbor in Rabun County) is now crying the blues and living with regret after their decision to open their summer camp resulted in 260 staff members and campers contracting COVID-19.

Via 11 Alive:

According to the report, the YMCA camp followed guidelines issued in Gov. Brian Kemp’s executive order for reopening summer camps, including requiring campers and staff to provide a negative test within 12 days of arriving.

The camp “adopted most components of CDC’s Suggestions for Youth and Summer Camps to minimize the risk” for Covid-19, the report states.

“Measures not implemented were cloth masks for campers and opening windows and doors for increased ventilation in buildings,” it adds. “Cloth masks were required for staff members. Camp attendees were cohorted by cabin and engaged in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including daily vigorous singing and cheering.”

Y’all can go ahead and keep on listening to Brian Kemp if you want to.

My prayers to all who have been impacted by COVID-19.
