A Florida sheriff is encouraging locals to shoot intruders to save taxpayers money.
Following the arrested of a suspected interloper last week, Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson told reporters:
If someone is breaking into your house you’re more than welcome to shoot at them in Santa Rosa County
We’d prefer that you do actually.
Santa Rosa police apprehended a 32-year-old suspect on Wednesday who they believe was breaking into homes near Pensacola, Florida.
He had reportedly been jumping over fences and running through yards when one area resident fired a shot at him, but he missed the target.
Sheriff Johnson suggested the resident take a gun safety course offered by the sheriff’s office every weekend.
Johnson added:
If you take that, you’ll shoot a lot better, and hopefully, you’ll save the taxpayers money.
Lord, please fix Florida and their Santa Rosa sheriff.
