A Florida man has been charged with murder after he killed a Burger King employee after a dispute over the long drive-thru wait.
Kelvis Rodriguez-Tormes, 37, shot and killed 22-year-old Desmond Joshua in the parking lot of the fast-food restaurant on East Colonial Drive about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday (August 1).
According to reports, Tormes’ girlfriend caused a scene at the restaurant over the long drive-thru wait. She got out of her car screaming she was going to “get her man” and demanded a refund.
She was given a $40 refund and was asked to leave. The unidentified woman left but returned shortly thereafter with Kelvis Rodriguez-Tormes in the car.
He targeted Desmond Joshua demanding he fight him. The two men had a physical altercation in the parking lot and were eventually separated by a witness.
That’s when Rodriguez-Tormes retrieved a gun from his truck and shot Desmond Joshua.
Desmond was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Rodriguez-Tormes has been charged with first-degree murder, destruction of evidence and weapons possession.
This is absolutely ridiculous. A life lost over Burger King food?!
