🎬 Still Showing Up: Dane Returns To Work On ‘Euphoria’

In true warrior spirit, Eric Dane went back to work filming “Euphoria” Season 3 just days after announcing his ALS diagnosis.

I feel great when I’m at work. Of course, there have been some sort of setbacks, but I feel pretty good.

🧠 Inside Eric Dane’s ALS Diagnosis: A Sobering Journey

Dane first revealed his diagnosis publicly in April, sharing that his ALS symptoms began about a year and a half ago.

In a deeply personal sit-down with Diane Sawyer, the Countdown star revealed he has already lost complete use of his right arm and is beginning to see changes in his left side as well.

“It’s going,” he admitted.

“Maybe a couple, few more months, and I won’t have my left hand either. It’s sobering.”

While he can still walk, Dane shared he’s worried about what’s to come for his legs.

Despite those fears, he remains grounded in hope:

I don’t think this is the end of my story.

I don’t feel like this is the end of me.

🧬 What Is ALS? Understanding The Disease Eric Dane Is Battling

ALS—also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease—is a progressive condition that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.

It leads to the gradual loss of muscle control, often starting with twitching, limb weakness, or slurred speech.

Over time, patients lose the ability to eat, speak, move, and breathe independently.

There is currently no cure for ALS.

According to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, life expectancy after diagnosis is typically 3–5 years, though some people, like Stephen Hawking, have lived for decades.

💬 Eric Dane’s Strength Is A Story Still Being Written

Eric Dane’s openness about his ALS journey is both heart-wrenching and inspiring.

By choosing to continue working and staying vocal about his experience, he’s bringing much-needed awareness to a devastating disease—and showing the world that strength doesn’t mean being unaffected.

We’re keeping Eric and his loved ones in our thoughts as he continues to live his story with courage, grace, and resilience.
