Paramount+ Announces Premiere Date For STANS
Paramount+ has officially announced that STANS, the ambitious new Eminem-produced documentary directed by Emmy winner Steven Leckart, will exclusively debut on the streaming service Tuesday, August 26 in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and Brazil.
The film will roll out internationally on Wednesday, August 27 in the U.K., Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, followed by a Japan premiere on October 3.
Following a highly successful limited theatrical run, STANS is ready to give fans around the world an intimate, raw, and often hilarious look at the unique connection between one of hip-hop’s most private artists and the people who love him most.
From Song To Cultural Phenomenon
Released in 2000, Eminem’s song “Stan” became an instant classic — a haunting tale of an obsessive fan that blurred the lines between admiration and obsession.
The track’s cultural impact was so significant that the term “stan” was officially added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2017.
This documentary builds on that legacy, following real-life stans whose personal connections to Eminem reflect the themes woven through his music.
Director Steven Leckart explained, “‘Stan’ is one of the most unconventional songs ever written, where the story is mostly told from a fan’s perspective, so this film was an incredible opportunity to find a unique approach.”
A Deep Dive Into Fandom And Fame
STANS goes beyond just fan stories — it digs into the complex relationship between Eminem’s private self and his massive public persona.
Using stylized recreations, rare archival footage, and intimate interviews, the film offers a vivid, unfiltered ride through Eminem’s career and the audience that has been with him every step of the way.
It’s moving, funny, and unexpectedly revealing — giving us a front-row seat to the impact of his music and the lives it has touched.
A Star-Studded Production Team
STANS is directed by Steven Leckart and produced by Eminem, Paul Rosenberg, Stuart Parr, Antoine Fuqua, Tony DiSanto, and David Schiff, with DIGA Studios in association with Shady Films, Fuqua Films, Interscope Films, and MTV Entertainment Studios.
Executive producers for MTV Entertainment Studios include Bruce Gillmer, Amanda Culkowski, and Michael Maniaci.
Fan-Filled Premieres And What’s Next
The film made its world premiere at the inaugural SXSW London earlier this year and later wowed audiences at its NYC premiere at The Rooftop at Pier 17 on August 6, where Eminem made a surprise appearance.
It also enjoyed a limited theatrical run at select AMC Theatres in the U.S. from August 7–10.
Now, the rest of the world will get the chance to stream STANS and witness the intersection of artistry, fandom, and cultural impact.
