Diddy’s High-Stakes Trial Hits A Major Snag

Sean “Diddy” Combs was supposed to face opening statements in his federal sex trafficking trial Monday morning, but now there’s a serious hiccup.

Prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York have reportedly lost contact with one of their key witnesses—just hours before the trial is scheduled to begin.

According to Deadline, the woman identified as “Victim-3” in court documents was expected to testify under the protection of anonymity, detailing allegations of sexual exploitation by Diddy.

But now she’s reportedly MIA, and the feds have no idea where she is.

The Defense Is Ready To Pounce

Diddy’s legal team is wasting no time.

Sources say they plan to either ask the judge for a mistrial or push for a delay in the trial’s start.

While a mistrial might be a long shot, a postponement is definitely on the table—especially since removing one of the prosecution’s main witnesses could shift the entire strategy of the case.

Law enforcement believes Victim-3 may have gone off the grid due to fears for her safety, but that hasn’t been confirmed.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office declined to comment, and the defense hasn’t issued a statement either.

Cassie Expected to Testify

One person who is expected to take the stand is Diddy’s former longtime girlfriend, Cassie Ventura—aka Victim-1.

She’s reportedly prepared to testify under her real name, despite being heavily pregnant with her third child.

You may remember, she reached a multi-million dollar settlement with Diddy in late 2023 after filing a separate civil lawsuit.

Her involvement became even more explosive after CNN aired 2016 hotel surveillance footage earlier this year showing Diddy physically assaulting her—footage the defense now claims is doctored.

What’s Next?

If the trial moves forward as scheduled, we could hear from Cassie as early as Monday.

But if the judge agrees with the defense, things could stall before they even get started.

With Diddy already facing serious charges like racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution-related crimes, this missing witness situation is a big deal.

Either way, the courtroom drama is just getting started—and all eyes are on what happens next.

Shoutout to Deadline for breaking this developing story.
