Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a new legal battle after being accused of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse by former Danity Kane singer, Dawn Richard.
In her lawsuit, Richard alleges that Diddy subjected her to years of mistreatment and witnessed him violently abusing his ex-girlfriend, Cassie.
Diddy’s legal team, however, has swiftly responded, categorically denying the claims and accusing Richard of fabricating the allegations for financial gain.
In a statement released by Erica Wolff, Diddy’s attorney, the hip-hop mogul expressed shock and disappointment over the lawsuit.
Wolff’s full statement reads:
Mr. Combs is shocked and disappointed by this lawsuit.
In an attempt to rewrite history, Dawn Richard has now manufactured a series of false claims all in the hopes of trying to get a pay day — conveniently timed to coincide with her album release and press tour.
If Ms. Richard had such a negative experience with ‘Making the Band’ and Danity Kane, she would not have chosen to continue working directly with Mr. Combs for Dirty Money, nor would she have returned for the ‘Making the Band’ reboot in 2020 or agreed to be featured on The Love Album last year.
It’s unfortunate that Ms. Richard has cast their 20-year friendship aside to try and get money from him, but Mr. Combs is confidently standing on truth and looks forward to proving that in court.
Dawn Richard’s allegations paint a dark picture of her years working with Diddy, dating back to her time on “Making the Band.”
She claims Diddy manipulated and abused her, describing disturbing incidents where he berated contestants, used degrading language, and engaged in violent behavior.
One particularly troubling moment outlined in the lawsuit involves Richard witnessing Diddy assault Cassie during a heated altercation, where he allegedly threw her against a wall and physically dragged her up a flight of stairs.
The lawsuit also claims that Diddy’s controlling behavior extended toward Richard, forcing her into exhausting rehearsals and inappropriate situations.
She alleges Diddy once summoned her to his Miami home, answering the door in his underwear, and on another occasion locked her in a car for hours.
According to Dawn Richard, these incidents were part of a pattern of abuse she endured while under Diddy’s control.
As the legal battle unfolds, the accusations against Diddy continue to grow, with Richard’s lawsuit being the latest in a string of claims made against the music mogul.

Despite the severity of the allegations, Diddy’s legal team remains confident that he will be vindicated in court, maintaining that Richard’s lawsuit is nothing more than an opportunistic attempt to rewrite their shared history.
This case joins several ongoing lawsuits against Diddy, raising broader questions about the culture of abuse within the music industry and the power dynamics at play.
For now, Diddy stands firm in his denial, as both sides prepare for what will likely be a contentious legal battle.
