👨🏾‍⚖️ Jury Seated In Diddy’s Federal Trial

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ highly publicized sex trafficking trial has officially begun in Manhattan federal court, with opening statements kicking off Monday morning.

After a rigorous jury selection process, a 12-person jury—with six alternates—was finalized, setting the stage for what could be one of the most explosive celebrity trials in recent history.

Wearing a white sweater, Diddy arrived at the courthouse just before 9 a.m., hugging his legal team and flashing a thumbs-up to his supporters.

His mother and children were escorted inside as crowds lined up outside the building.

🧾 The Charges & What’s At Stake

The 55-year-old music mogul has pleaded not guilty to a five-count federal indictment that could result in a minimum of 15 years behind bars if convicted.

Prosecutors allege Diddy orchestrated a pattern of drug-fueled sex trafficking and violent abuse, including physical assaults like choking, dragging, and kicking women—often by the hair.

Prosecutors say they plan to present graphic evidence, including surveillance video of Diddy allegedly assaulting singer and ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016.

Ventura, who settled a civil lawsuit against Diddy within hours of filing it in 2023, is expected to be one of the government’s early witnesses.

🎥 The ‘Freak Offs’ & Defense Response

Jurors may also be shown footage of alleged sex parties—called “Freak Offs”—where women engaged in sex acts with male workers while Diddy filmed.

Prosecutors claim these encounters were drug-fueled marathons requiring IV drips for recovery.

Diddy’s legal team maintains that any group sex was consensual and that he’s being unfairly criminalized for living a lavish, party-heavy lifestyle.

His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, acknowledged Diddy is “not a perfect person” and said he had been receiving therapy, including treatment for drug use, prior to his arrest.

⚖️ Judge Rejects Racial Bias Claims

During jury selection, the defense objected to the prosecution striking seven Black jurors.

But U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian ruled the prosecution provided race-neutral explanations and moved forward with an anonymous jury to protect their identities given the high-profile nature of the case.

The trial is expected to span at least eight weeks.
