Diddy Sentenced To Over 4 Years
Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially been sentenced to 50 months in prison following his conviction on two prostitution-related charges back in July.
The courtroom was tense as the music mogul, who has been behind bars since his September 2024 arrest, faced the reality of his punishment.
In addition to his prison sentence, Judge Arun Subramanian also fined Combs $500,000, the maximum penalty allowed.
While many expected a much longer sentence, prosecutors had been pushing for 11 years behind bars, calling Combs “unrepentant.”
His defense team, on the other hand, asked for no more than 14 months, pointing to his philanthropic work and personal transformation.
A Mixed Verdict
Today, a mixed verdict was read in the criminal trial of The United States v. Sean Combs.
Cassie Ventura’s 2023 civil lawsuit is widely believed to have sparked the federal investigation that culminated in this trial, where she also offered key witness testimony.

Although the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution.
By coming forward with her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice.
We must repeat – with no reservation – that we believe and support our client who showed exemplary courage throughout this trial.
She displayed unquestionable strength and brought attention to the realities of powerful men in our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussion.
This case proved that change is long overdue, and we will continue to fight on behalf of survivors.”
Diddy’s Emotional Apology
Before the judge handed down the sentence, Combs spoke directly to the courtroom, apologizing to his family, former girlfriends, and supporters.
He admitted that his past actions were, in his own words, “disgusting, shameful and sick.”
He added that his children “deserve better” and confessed that he had failed his mother as a son.
Defense attorneys also played a 12-minute video montage that showed Diddy participating in marathons for education and speaking to kids about empowerment.
The clip left him visibly emotional, but prosecutors were not moved.
Prosecutors Call Out His “Hubris”
Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy Slavik did not hold back during sentencing arguments.
She told Judge Subramanian that Diddy’s “respect for the law is just lip service.”
She revealed that Combs had already been booking speaking engagements as early as next week, as if he anticipated a quick release.
“That is the height of hubris, your honor,” she said, stressing that he still had not fully acknowledged how his actions landed him in prison.
The Verdict And What’s Next
Combs, now 55, was convicted in July of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution but acquitted of more serious charges including sex trafficking and racketeering.
With today’s sentencing and a hefty half-million dollar fine, Diddy faces just over four years behind bars, though it is still unclear how much time he will actually serve given potential credits and federal guidelines.
