Paramount+ with SHOWTIME® just dropped the official trailer for “Dexter: Original Sin,” the highly anticipated prequel series diving into the chilling beginnings of America’s favorite vigilante killer.
The 10-episode drama premieres exclusively on Paramount+ on Friday, December 13, for subscribers with the SHOWTIME plan.
It will also air on TV in the U.S. on Sunday, December 15, at 10 PM ET/PT.
Fans worldwide can tune in on December 13, as the series debuts internationally on Paramount+ in regions like the UK, Canada, Australia, Latin America, and several European countries, including Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
Set in 1991 Miami, “Dexter: Original Sin” follows Dexter Morgan (Patrick Gibson) as he navigates life as a young man with a dark, irresistible urge to kill.
With the guidance of his adoptive father, Harry (played by Christian Slater), Dexter begins to channel his sinister tendencies by following the “Code” – targeting only those who truly deserve it.
The stakes are higher than ever as Dexter starts a forensics internship at Miami Metro Police, forcing him to hide his deadly double life while honing his skills.
The series boasts a stellar cast, including Molly Brown, Christina Milian, James Martinez, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, and special guest stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Patrick Dempsey.
Michael C. Hall also reprises his role as the iconic voice inside Dexter’s head, adding a nostalgic layer for longtime fans.
Behind the scenes, “Dexter: Original Sin” is executive produced by Clyde Phillips, the mastermind behind the original Dexter series, alongside Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under), and Mary Leah Sutton (Resident Evil).
The production team also includes Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris) and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll), with Michael Lehmann (Heathers) serving as directing executive producer.
