A Love Story In Print

Da Brat and her wife, Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart, are opening up like never before.

The couple just announced they are releasing an inspiring new book, “The Way Love Goes: A Guide to Building a ‘Beaurtiful’ and Everlasting Relationship,” set to hit shelves on February 3, 2026.

Book cover for “The Way Love Goes” by Da Brat and Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart, featuring the couple and the subtitle “A Guide to Building a ‘Beaurtiful’ and Everlasting Relationship.”

Published by Amistad, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, the book promises a blend of memoir and relationship guide, sharing the real, unfiltered journey of one of entertainment’s most beloved power couples.

“We’re beyond excited to finally share our story in this book,” Da Brat and Judy told PEOPLE. “It’s raw, it’s real, it’s us, full of love, lessons, laughter, and everything in between.”

From Meet-Cute To Marriage

The pair’s love story has had its twists and turns.

They first met in 2017, before Da Brat publicly identified as LGBTQ+.

After going their separate ways, fate brought them back together at a festival.

Shortly after reconnecting, the “Not Tonight” rapper came out and the two confirmed their relationship in March 2020.

By 2022, they were walking down the aisle.

In July 2023, they welcomed their son, True Legend Harris-Dupart, adding “proud parents” to their growing list of relationship milestones.

What To Expect In The Book

Told in Da Brat’s signature Chicago flavor and Judy’s distinct New Orleans patois, “The Way Love Goes” will tackle everything from balancing busy careers to handling jealousy to keeping the spark alive.

Readers can expect candid stories, heartfelt insights, and practical advice, plus the couple’s “golden rules” for finding and holding onto love.

A press release teases that the book will be “full of joy, honesty, humor, and ‘real-ness’ on every page.”

Both Da Brat and Judy will also narrate the audiobook, giving fans an extra layer of intimacy.

Their Impact Beyond The Pages

Da Brat, born Shawntae Harris-Dupart, is a hip-hop trailblazer.

Her debut album Funkdafied made history in 1994, making her the first solo female rapper to sell a million records on the Billboard charts.

She has also toured with icons like Mariah Carey and remains a respected figure in music and entertainment.

Judy, meanwhile, is a beauty mogul as the founder and CEO of Kaleidoscope Hair Products.

She also leads her nonprofit KaleidoKares, which supports communities through various relief efforts.
