D.L. Hughley took to the streets of Al Gore’s internet and let the chopper fly on Mo’Nique in response to her “Club Shay Shay” interview with Shannon Sharpe.
Who’s The Headliner?
You may recall that in May 2022, the comedians got into a very nasty dispute over who was supposed to headline a comedy show in Detroit.
The backstage issue became public when Mo’Nique got on stage and told the audience:
Y’all don’t understand what the f**k I had to go through to stand in front of you beautiful muthaf**kas tonight!
Y’all don’t understand the fight a b**ch had to go through to stand in front of y’all tonight.
Y’all don’t understand I was ready to walk the f**k up out of here, but I said I can’t let the people down of muthaf**kin Detroit.
She went on to say:
But, a n***a named D.L. Hughley turned into a b**ch and said, ‘I won’t perform if she does that. I won’t go out if she does that.’
N***a, you opened for The Kings of Comedy – I closed for The Queens of Comedy, n***a!
Unfortunately, the drama from the Detroit show spilled over into the streets of social media with both D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique posting their alleged receipts about who the real headliner was and firing shots at one another.

But, things took a very ugly turn when Mo’Nique attacked D.L. Hughley by bringing up his daughter’s sexual assault and blamed him for allowing it to happen.
The situation prompted D.L.’s daughter Ryan Nicole Shepard to enter the chat and she eloquently gathered Mo’Nique.

D.L. Hughley took to his Instagram account and shared a video reaction to Mo’Nique’s interview and he went AWF!
The caption on the post read:
The reason LIES and FALSE NARRATIVES continue to go on and circulate is because they go unchecked.
What you’re not gonna do is call me out my name and not get checked… MONIQUE IS A LIAR!
She is constantly throwing the rock and hiding the hand.
You don’t get to tear people down and then soften the blow by calling them “brotha… sista… sweet baby”.
That’s NOT love, far from it. I’m sure Ike thought he “LOVED” Tina too!

I will NEVER FORGIVE OR FORGET the way you tried to manipulate my daughter’s trauma to fit your sick narrative.
