Coach Greg Popovich is trending after he grabbed the mic during the San Antonio Spurs’ matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers and told fans to stop booing Kawhi Leonard.
Kawhi was at the free-throw line when the boos ensued.
That’s when Coach Pop grabbed the mic and said, “Excuse me for a second…can we stop all the booing and let these guys play?”
He added, “It’s not who we are. Knock off the booing.”
As Coach Greg Popovich headed back to the sidelines, the crowd continued to boo to his dismay.
You may recall that Kawhi Leonard, who now plays for the Clippers, played seven seasons with the Spurs and won an NBA championship with the team in 2014.
But, in 2018, he forced his way out to take his talents to the Toronto Raptors.
As you can see it’s still a sore spot with many of the fans.
