Chris Webber is setting the record straight and threatening legal action over a viral rumor involving Jackie Christie and Doug Christie. Watch his response.
👀 The Rumor That Got Way Outta Hand
Chris Webber had to pause his day to address a wild rumor that spread like wildfire online—and he’s not taking it lightly.
This all started when comedian Gerald Huston posted a sensational claim on Facebook, alleging that “Basketball Wives” star Jackie Christie secretly had a child with Chris Webber while married to her husband, Doug Christie—who also happened to be Webber’s former teammate.
The viral post read in part:
“So Jackie Christie cheated on Doug Christie with his teammate Chris Webber & got pregnant… Doug raised the baby as his own & 20 years later he finds out it ain’t his… And Chris Webber stayed close & played the uncle role to the daughter all her life…”

Talk about a plot twist worthy of a Shonda Rhimes series.
But according to Chris Webber, none of it is true—and he’s had enough.
🏀 A Little Backstory: Webber & Christie’s NBA Ties
For those who don’t remember, Chris Webber and Doug Christie were teammates on the Sacramento Kings from the 2000–01 season through the 2003–04 season.
They were part of the well-known “Greatest Show on Court” era, when the Kings were a powerhouse in the NBA and a fan favorite thanks to their fast-paced, flashy style of play.
That shared history is what made this rumor even messier and more damaging.
📢 Chris Webber’s Strong Response
Chris Webber hopped on social media with a direct message for anyone spreading the lie or even entertaining it:
“That’s why I’m gonna give this friendly reminder to some of my friends out there that you can’t believe everything you read, see, or hear on the internet—especially when they’re all lies. No proof. Just made up lies.”
He went on to make it clear that legal action is already underway:
“If you have a platform and you have content with my name attached to lies, take it down now… You are not gonna defame my name.”
Chris also reminded fans to stay focused and not get caught up in the distractions:
“If anyone wants insight on how to get through the distractions, how to stay focused during the bull—go get my book By God’s Grace. The enemy wants us distracted. You gotta put your blinders on.”
