Britt Reid is no longer a member of the Kansas City Chiefs coaching staff.

The news comes nearly a week after he was involved in a crash that injured two children, a 4-year-old and a 5-year-old little girl, Ariel Young, who suffered brain damage and has not regained consciousness.

Reid admitted he had two or three drinks before he slammed into two parked cars that were pulled over on the side of a highway ramp.

Initially, the Kansas City Chiefs placed Britt Reid on leave and he didn’t not travel with the team to the Super Bowl were they loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In a statement, the Chief said:

Our focus remains on Ariel Young and her family. We have reached out to the family to offer our support and resources to them during this difficult time, and we will continue to pray for her recovery.

While placed on leave, Britt’s contract expired and he is no longer employed by the Chiefs.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the new via Twitter:

Like the Chiefs said…the focus remains on Ariel.

Please keep her and her family uplifted in prayer.
