Tyler Perry’s “Beauty In Black” Season 2 dropped on Thursday, September 11 and is now the No. 1 show on Netflix.
The entertainment mogul took to social media with two single words, “THANK YOU!!”
Season 2 picks up right where we left off, in that hospital room with our mouths hanging open after Horace flipped the table on the Bellarie family by making Kimmie his wife and the HBIC.
From there, “Beauty In Black” wastes no time diving into the nitty-gritty and the Bellarie family’s shady shenanigans, and I was seated for every second.
I watched all 8 episodes in one sitting and have to tip my hat to Tyler Perry, the cast, and the crew for raising the stakes as we dig even deeper into the Bellarie family’s disdain for Kimmie and, frankly, for each other.
Horace, who had seemingly accepted his fate and was prepared to head to the crossroads with Uncle Charles, has had a change of heart.

Revenge on his family now fuels his will to live in the face of what appears to be terminal cancer.
Kimmie is a deer in headlights, and her head is spinning as she tries to adjust to the whirlwind change, wealth, and power she now wields after uttering two simple words: “I do.”

With all that she has been through, and with Sylvie’s well-being and protection always at the forefront of her mind, her new luxurious situation seems too good to be true, and she does not trust it one bit.
Lock in, Mrs. Bellarie.

Meanwhile, Mallory and Roy are still fighting like the Bloods and the Crips, and having Kimmie as the Head Bellarie In Charge is only adding insult to injury.

I really didn’t think it was humanly possible to dislike Roy more than I already did, but here we are.

Charles “Kodak Black” Bellarie’s reckless lifestyle keeps his world in shambles, and his IDGAF mentality is as entertaining as it is annoying.
Olivia, the Bellarie matriarch, is not adjusting well to the changing of the guard or how light her coin purse is feeling these days.

Lawd, Norman’s desire to dethrone Horace keeps him doing the absolute most with messy minimal results.

I am happy to see Rain make a full recovery.
However, she is proof that you can take some folks out of the hood, but you cannot take the hood out of them.
Her desire for revenge and the residuals from her past trauma continue to distance her from a life of peace.

Officer Alex unexpectedly has my full attention this season as he tries to prove he is a “good” guy with dirt on his shoes and blood on his hands.
It is giving “sitting in the middle of a seesaw,” and I do not fully trust it.

Angel is the epitome of a ride or die, heavy on the die, and his troubles only worsen after he gets popped for unintentionally carpooling with a dead man.

Jules continues to shapeshift his way through a world of crime while pretending he has the Bellarie family’s best interest at heart.
There are snakes in the grass, and then there is Jules, a king cobra.

Last but certainly not least is Attorney Varney, who deserves so much better, but has got it bad like Usher when it comes to Charles.
“Beauty In Black” Season 2 manages to take the Bellarie family’s tomfoolery and shenanigans to new heights.
No one is safe, trust is elusive, secrets are spilling on aisle 3, and revenge is a dish best served cold.
I am anxiously awaiting Part 2 of “Beauty In Black” Season 2.
