Ari Lennox has spoken out for the first time since she was arrested in an Amsterdam airport on Monday (November 29) in what she says was a case of racial profiling.

The Grammy-nominated singer took to Twitter to share her only regret is how she reacted to the racism and discrimination she experienced.

She went on to say it’s “painful” to be silenced because KLM Royal Dutch Airlines wouldn’t even hear her out when she tried to explain what happened.

Ari tweeted:

My only regret is my reaction to the racism and discrimination I experienced.

I would like to explain what happened to me but KLM has made it clear that they never cared to hear it from jump.

It’s painful being silenced like this. It’s painful what I went through.

I’m not ok.

According to Dutch military police, the R&B singer, whose real name is Courtney Shanade Salter, was arrested at Amsterdam Schiphol airport for disturbing public order.

They also accused her of being drunk.

Sending love and prayers for healing to Ari Lennox.
