An American Airlines passenger, who is believed to have mental health issues, was duck-taped to her seat until the flight landed.
A representative from American Airlines released this statement:
While in flight from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Charlotte (CLT) on July 6, the crew on board American Airlines flight 1774 reported a potential security concern after a customer attempted to open the forward boarding door and physically assaulted, bit and caused injury to a flight attendant.”
For the safety and security of other customers and our crew, the individual was restrained until the flight landed at CLT and could be met by law enforcement and emergency personnel.
Sources confirmed that the woman was trying to exit the plane while in flight, and she appeared to be having an episode of some sort.
After the plane landed, a passenger was able to record footage of the woman duck-taped to her seat, her mouth was also duck-taped.

My question is why do they have to use duct tape?… Is that the protocol for restraining people with mental health issues on American Airlines?
American Airlines may have a lawsuit in the near future.
