Adrian Peterson was arrested on Sunday at Los Angeles International Airport after an apparent domestic violence incident with his wife on a flight.

According to airport police, a plane leaving LAX for Houston had to return to the gate due to an alleged verbal and physical between a male suspect and a female victim.

The LAPD received a call around 8:30 a.m. about a potential domestic violence situation on a flight.

Following an investigation, Adrian Peterson, 36, was taken into custody and booked at the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division.

He was released after posting $50,000 bond on Sunday afternoon.

His wife, Ashley Peterson, and another passenger remained on the flight to Houston.

A representative for the couple said they had a “verbal argument” on the plane.

The statement continued:

This is a private misunderstanding between husband and wife and we anticipate it will all be resolved shortly.

This was a “misunderstanding” between husband, wife, and everyone else on that flight.

Pray for the Petersons.
