25 Totally Accurate Tweets About Closing Arguments In The Derek Chauvin Murder Trial

Closing arguments in the Derek Chauvin trial concluded today, and the world awaits the jury’s decision.

The prosecution closed strong, stating facts and recounting the events and circumstances that led to George Floyd’s death.

The defense struggled, as they have the entire trial, to prove their case.

The world has seen the video of Derek Chauvin, multiple times throughout this trial, applying pressure to the neck of George Floyd for 9 minutes as he lay on the ground handcuffed and pleading for his life.

I’ve said since the beginning of this trial that the defense has no case, given the evidence.

Derek Chauvin’s attorney Eric Nelson was so desperate today that he requested a mistrial because he claimed the prosecution “belittled” the defense in their closing arguments, and he also hinted at comments over the weekend from California Congresswoman Maxine Waters calling for a guilty verdict.

I hope we get a verdict that says guilty, guilty, guilty. And if we don’t, we cannot go away. We’ve got to stay on the street. We get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business.

More ridiculous observations by a defense attorney who knows he has no case.
