Yolonda Ross is such an amazing actress (and she’s a beautiful person inside and out).

In a recent episode of “The Chi,” Yolonda’s character, “Jada Washington,” who is battling breast cancer, shaved her head after chemo caused her hair to start falling out.

Showtime released a special behind-the-scenes feature where Yolonda opened up about shaving her head for the scene and the impact it had on her personally.

Watch below.

In a message posted on her Instagram page, Yolonda Ross shared:

Black is beautiful. Black and Bald is beautiful too. The loss of your crown can not compare to the loss of your life.

Though you may feel less than, remember you are so much more. It’s been a privilege for me this season to be the face for black women, who are going through or have survived the cancer journey and feel they are not seen nor heard.

Please know, We see you. ???????? Get those mammograms. Seek out local organizations in your city for help in navigating what’s ahead of you.
