Newsweek Issues Apology For Tweeting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Casket Photo
This year will mark the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.‘s assassination and Newsweek decided to asassinate their reputation by tweeting an open casket photo of the civil rights icon.
The caption on the tweet read, “Has anyone seen my old friend Martin?”
The tweet has been deleted, but the damage is already done. Out of respect for the King family I will not post the photo, but you can see the tweet here.
Bernice King reacted to the disrespectful post by tweeting, “Why, @Newsweek? Wow.”
