In 1985, Nancy Argentino’s family won a $500,000 wrongful death lawsuit against Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, however he never paid it. An affidavit stated he was terminated from the WWF.
To this very day, Jimmy proclaims his innocence. In his 2012 biography, Superfly: The Jimmy Snuka Story, he said Nancy’s death ruined his life.
Many terrible things have been written about me hurting Nancy and being responsible for her death, but they are not true. This has been very hard on me and very hard on my family. To this day, I get nasty notes and threats. It hurts. I never hit Nancy or threatened her.
The WWE, who enshrined Jimmy Snuka into the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame in 1996, released a statement saying, “WWE expresses its continued sympathy to the Argentino family for their loss. Ultimately this legal matter will be decided by our judicial system.”
Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka was arraigned Tuesday afternoon and sent to Lehigh County Jail. He is expected to post a portion of his $100,000 bail.
According to Jimmy’s wife, the 72-year-old former wrestler has stomach cancer.
