An Illinois woman has been arrested and is facing multiple charges after she poured boiling water on her boyfriend and posted a video of it on Snapchat.

On January 2, Alexis Sykes poured a pot of boiling water on her boyfriend as he slept on the couch.

After scalding her boyfriend, police say Alexis hid his car keys from him so that he couldn’t leave to get help.

Instead, the 22-year-old watched as her boyfriend’s skin fell off of his arms and posted video of the entire ordeal on Snapchat.

In the caption, Alexis Sykes wrote:

I kinda feel bad now because he got 2 and 3rd degree Burns from face to waist & they rushin him to burn center but oh well ????????‍♀️ B*TCH ???? n still cried & beg me to drive him to hospital.

The boyfriend eventually managed to get his keys and drove himself to Loyola University Medical Center.

He was admitted to the burn unit where he underwent skin graft surgery.

After the assault, Alexis fled to Mississippi. She was arrested on January 19 and extradited back to Illinois to face charges of aggravated battery by caustic substance and aggravated domestic battery.

She is being held on $500,000 bond and her next court appearance is scheduled for March.

Police have not disclosed a motive for the assault.

A whole lot of people are sitting in jail because they sought clout on social media.
