“You about to lose yo job…cause you are detaining me for nothing!”

The viral clip, which has taken social media by storm, shows 27-year-old Johnniqua Charles being detained after a run-in with a security guard.

While handcuffed, she began to question the security guard about why she was being detained. That moment led to her ad-libbing a song on the fly along with a dance that would ultimately make her an internet sensation.

Why are you detaining me? You about to lose yo job.

You about to lose yo job. You about to lose yo job. Get this dance!

You about to lose yo job ‘cause you are detaining me for nothing.

Watch below:

While the viral clip may have given many a much needed laugh during these very trying times, Johnniqua says it has changed her life for the better.

You see, four months ago, Johnniqua was estranged from her family, homeless, doing sex work, and battling a drug addiction.

Her family was caring for her 3-year-old son, JuJu.

On February 5, she was detained for trespassing after she tried to get back inside of Diamonds Gentleman’s Club in Dillon after it was closed because she forgot her purse inside.

After refusing to leave, she was detained by Julius Locklear.

Julius revealed his colleague filmed the incident because his body camera wasn’t working.

Sheriff Deputies were called to the scene and let Johnniqua go.

Julius later shared the video on Facebook writing, “Okay IM NOT POSTING THIS TO BE FUNNY TOWARDS THIS SUBJECT!!!! I’m posting it cause that rap was lit like I wish I could put a beat to it lol.”

For the record, Julius Locklear did NOT lose his job.

Now, that all eyes are on the police department, the clip caught its second wind.

After the clip went viral Johnniqua’s family found her and allowed her to come home.

She’s reunited with her son.

Her sister (at the request of social media users) created a GoFundMe which has raised over $30,000 to help her jumpstart her life and care for her son.

And she’s launched her own line of merch with the catchphrase, “You About To Lose Yo Job!”

Other people keep telling me I helped them so much, but they don’t understand — nobody understands — how much this video going viral like this is helping me, because it’s giving me the breakthrough I so badly needed for so long.

It’s a lot of tears from everybody. They just want to be reassured. Because it’s been ongoing with me battling this addiction — this has been, like, six years — and they just want to be reassured that this is no more, that they don’t have to stress about where I may be. They never want me to be in the streets ever again and live that lifestyle.

God bless her.
