A24 has released the first trailer for their critically-acclaimed Joe Talbot-directed film, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, and I am totally intrigued.
About The Film (Via Entertainment Weekly):
Based on an original story by Talbot and lead actor Jimmie Fails, the film revolves around a young man attempting to repossess a Victorian-style home built by his grandfather (Danny Glover) in the heart of San Francisco. As he embarks on a quest to reclaim his place in the city from millionaire gentrifiers, Jimmie grapples with growing anxieties about the face of his hometown changing rapidly enough to cast him as an outsider versus a lifelong resident.
Along the way, however, Jimmie’s journey leads him to unexpected places: He parties with strangers, speeds along busy streets on his skateboard, and rows a boat across the harbor — all while soaking up the soul of the region that’s potentially disappearing as he mulls leaving the Bay Area altogether.
Jimmie Fails, Jonathan Majors, Rob Morgan, Tichina Arnold, and Danny Glover
