Lifetime has released the first trailer for their forthcoming docuseries, “Surviving R. Kelly” and it appears the tea will be overflowing.
The series, executive produced by Dream Hampton, will deep dive into the allegations of sexual misconduct, underage sex, and abuse that have followed the R&B singer for most of his career.
R. Kelly‘s laundry list of alleged victims including Asante McGee, Andrea Kelly, Lizzette Martinez, Kitti Jones, and Sparkle are featured in the 3-part series, set to premiere on Thursday, January 3, just 5 days before the singer’s 52nd birthday.
In one clip, Sparkle lays a long-standing rumor to rest.
You may have heard she was paid off to keep quiet because it was her underaged niece in the infamous R. Kelly sex tape.
In one scene, Sparkle weeps as she says, “I should have never introduced my family to him!”
Later in the trailer, she says, “I didn’t take the money because I can’t be bought.” She added, “He ain’t a monster by himself. It took some help.”
