The first trailer for “Emanuel” has arrived and I was overwhelmed with emotion while watching it.
“Emanuel” is the Viola Davis and Steph Curry-produced documentary which tells the true story of the Charleston church shooting.
The film, co-produced by Mariska Hargitay (“Law & Order: SVU“) will be released in theaters for two days only – June 17 and June 19.
Steph Curry spoke about the film saying:
The documentary highlights how a horrible tragedy can bring a community together, and spreads an important message about the power of forgiveness. Stories like this are the reason we created Unanimous and entered the entertainment space. I hope the film inspires others like it does me.
Viola Davis and her husband, Julius Tennon, added:
We, along with the country, grieved each family’s loss. Yet, miraculously, from this devastation we witnessed tremendous benchmarks of humanity. The survivors found courage to love in the face of hate.
