‘Violent Night’ Review

Season’s Beatings!

David Harbour stars in Violent Night as Santa Claus and good ole Saint Nick has lost the holiday spirit.

He’s utterly disenchanted with his job, so he gets liquored up in between delivering gifts on Christmas Eve.

While taking a booze break at a mansion in Connecticut, Kris Kringle finds himself caught up in some unexpected reindeer games when a team of mercenaries breaks into the compound and takes an extremely dysfunctional family inside hostage.

After his reindeer skate on him and leave him stranded, Santa Claus stands ten toes down like a true North Pole representer and decks the halls with violence to save the family and Christmas.

Violent Night also stars Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Beverly D’Angelo, Alexander Elliot, Edi Patterson, and John Leguizamo.

Without a doubt, it was 10-year-old Leah Brady, who stole the film with her portrayal of Trudy Lightstone.

Trudy’s innocence and unwavering belief in Santa preserved the Christmas “feels” and holiday magic of the extremely violent film.

Violent Night is like a holiday potluck of John Wick, Die Hard, and Home Alone – and I loved it!

I laughed out loud, I gasped, I squealed, I cheered, and I caught a case of the Christmas feels.

If you love holiday movies…and you love creative and over-the-top violence in movies…Violent Night is the best of both worlds.
