During a recent sit down with Hip Hollywood, Serayah says her character was draws from powerful women in the industry like Rihanna, Beyonce, and Lauryn Hill.
I talk to writers and I talk to producers about my character and how to bring her across and exactly what their views were and they mentioned people…but they didn’t mention them [Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert].
Definitely they mentioned Rihanna, Beyonce…powerful women in the industry…Lauryn Hill. Like really really powerful, blunt, say what you have to say, you know. As far as performance-wise…bringing that across the screen.
So, there was a lot of that said.

Serayah McNeill is such a sweet girl. You could tell the question made her uncomfy and she was trying to be honest as possible without sounding shady.
