Tyrese saves DJ Envy's marriage

Two years ago, DJ Envy‘s spot was blown to smithereens when “Love & Hip Hop” star, Erica Mena, wrote about her affair with him in her book, Underneath It All.

DJ Envy took to the radio airwaves to publicly apologize to his wife, Gia Casey. Then, he blasted Erica by calling her a bird and a devil. However, Erica said she had no idea he was married.

DJ Envy’s definitely talking about me, but I’m one of many. I was under the assumption that he had kids but wasn’t actually married. I found out around the time that I started filming ‘Love & Hip-Hop.’ After I found out, I was still in shock because we were together for so long. I didn’t understand how he could take a vow as serious as marriage and take on a whole other relationship.

The Breakfast Club” dedicated all of his energy towards saving his marriage including welcoming two more babies. But, little did we know…Tyrese played a huge role in helping DJ Envy save his marriage.

DJ Envy - Wife Gia

During Tyrese’s interview on Friday morning, DJ Envy revealed the Furious 7 actor and singer helped him save his marriage by counseling him and his wife for almost six months.

I was going through a situation with my wife. Me and Tyrese knew each other, but we weren’t ‘friends.’ We were cordial like most artists.

Tyrese heard my story and my pain talking about my wife and called me one day. He was like, ‘Man, are you alright?’ And I was, ‘Nah, I’m not alright.’

We talked and I explained to him what was going on. He basically talked me off the roof. He helped me out with the relationship.

He basically talked to me and talked to my wife and he did something special.

I had a dinner set up at Philippe Chow and had dinner with my wife and Tyrese walked in singing “Stay.” He had a guitarist and a couple of other people with him…background singers.

There were no cameras, there was no video, like it wasn’t made for Worldstar. It wasn’t made for TV. He did it for me and my wife. He sat down and had dinner with us and basically became our counselor and our friend throughout everything that goes on.

So, if there’s a problem or there’s a situation…whatever it is…we call Tyrese.
