Kat Graham Cast As Jada Pinkett Smith In Tupac Biopic “All Eyez On Me”
“Vampire Diaries” star Kat Graham is the latest star to join the ever-growing cast of the Tupac biopic, “All Eyez On Me.”
Kat will play Jada Pinkett Smith in the Benny Boom-directed biopic.
Via Entertainment Weekly:
Graham will star in All Eyez on Me as Smith, a longtime friend of the iconic rapper. Smith and Tupac first met in high school at the Baltimore School for the Arts.
Graham joins newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr., who joined the cast last month as Tupac, Jamal Woolard, who will play Biggie Smalls, and Walking Dead star Danai Gurira, who recently signed on to play Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur. Music video director Benny Boom recently stepped in as director, replacing Carl Franklin and John Singleton.
All Eyez on Me, the title of which is taken from Tupac’s fourth studio album, follows the rapper’s rise to stardom, and the film is currently in production in Atlanta after years of trying to get it off the ground. Back in 2009, Shakur’s mother, Afeni Shakur, filed a lawsuit against the production, but the suit has since been resolved and she is now involved with the film as an executive producer.
I’m really excited about this biopic.
They’ve done a great job with casting (in my humble opinion) and I’m confident Benny Boom will deliver a great film.
