This time, the airline is in the doghouse for forcing a family to put their French bulldog, Kokito, in an overhead compartment during a 3-hour flight from Houston to New York.

Upon arrival, the 10-month-old dog was found non-responsive. Deceased.

Another passenger on the flight detailed what went down on Twitter:

Aaaand like clockwork, Twitter turned on the Maggie and dragged her for not stepping in to help.

She responded:

United released the following statement:

This was a tragic accident that should never have occurred, as pets should never be placed in the overhead bin. We assume full responsibility for this tragedy and express our deepest condolences to the family and are committed to supporting them. We are thoroughly investigating what occurred to prevent this from ever happening again.

Kokito’s family, Catalina Robledo and her 11-year-old daughter, Sophia Ceballos, made their media rounds on Wednesday to share their experience and loss on “Good Morning America” and the “Today Show.”
