Tyler Perry is sending Madea to the crossroads.

It’s been 20 years since the entertainment mogul introduced the slick-mouthed, gun-toting, badly-built granny to the world in his plays, films, and television appearances.

In 2019, he’s sending Madea to the upper room with a farewell stage tour and his forthcoming film, Tyler Perry’s a Madea Family Funeral, slated to arrive on March 1, 2019.

During a recent interview on Bevy Smith’s SiriusXM show “Bevelations,” Tyler said:

I’m happy to kill that old b–ch, I’m tired, man.

I just don’t want to be her age, playing her.

Tyler Perry also revealed A Madea Family Funeral was filmed two years ago, but he staggered it out with the release of Acrimony and Nobody’s Fool, which opens in theaters on Friday.
