TV One renews “Born Again Virgin” for season 2.
After weekly rating gains in the key women 18-34 demographic, TV One has renewed their provocative scripted comedy series, “Born Again Virgin,” for a second season.
Here’s the scoop via Deadline:
The series follows the exploits of Jenna (Danielle Nicolet), a thirtysomething writer who decides to become celebate after years of unsatisfactory dating. She decides to blog about her newly adopted sex-fast and share the hilarious “sexcapades” of her girlfriends – Kelly (Meagan Holder), a publicist known equally for her success launching new clients as her ability to attract “failure to launch” men, and Tara (Eva Marcille), a budding actress who splits her time between gigs hanging out with her girls and finding her next suitor to bankroll her celebrity-inspired lifestyle. Donovan (Durrell “Tank” Babbs) is their hot neighbor who makes staying on the right path nearly impossible for Jenna.
“Given its provocative premise and smart storytelling, our confidence in “Born Again Virgin” as a dynamic addition to our Wednesday primetime lineup was solid even before the first episode aired,” said D’ Angela Proctor, TV One’s SVP Original Programming and Production. “The continual character development, strong writing and topical humor combined with key demo weekly ratings gains and strong social engagement confirm the show’s ability to deliver new and younger audiences.”
TV One has ordered 12 episode for season 2 of “Born Again Virgin.”
