FOX Announces “Wayward Pines” Premiere Date
FOX has announced their M. Night Shyamalan series, “Wayward Pines,” will return on May 25 and Terrence Howard will reprise his role as the sheisty Sheriff Arnold Pope.
Here’s the scoop via Deadline:
Empire star Terrence Howard, who was first recruited by Fox and 20th TV for the first season of the summer supernatural thriller, paving the way for his casting in the network and studio’s mega hit hip-hop drama, will return for Season 2, reprising his role as Sheriff Arnold Pope. Also returning in their original characters are Hope Davis (Megan Fisher), Toby Jones (Dr. Jenkins/David Pilcher), Shannyn Sossamon (Theresa Burke), Tim Griffin (Adam Hassler), Charlie Tahan (Ben Burke), as well as Melissa Leo (Nurse Pam), Carla Gugino (Kate Hewson) and Tom Stevens (Jason Higgins).
Starring new leading man Jason Patric, Djimon Hounsou and Davis, the 10-episode second season will pick up after the shocking events of Season One, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. Theo Yedlin (Patric) – a new resident of Wayward Pines – awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race.
Season one of “Wayward Pines” was pretty good. I’ll tune in to see what they have poppin in season 2.
