According to Jeff Schultz of The Athletic, Dan Quinn has been fired as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons after an 0-5 start to the 2020 NFL season.

Jeff Schultz tweeted the news about Dan Quinn losing his job shortly after the Falcons Week 5 loss to the Carolina Panthers 23-16.

See tweet below:

Speaking from a Falcon’s fan perspective this is long overdue. When you lose a 25-point lead in the Super Bowl the only redemption is winning a Super Bowl.

The Falcons are 4 years removed from their 2016 Super Bowl appearance against the New England Patriots, in which the Falcons had a 28-3 lead in the 3rd quarter and lost the game in OT. It was the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history and the biggest embarrassment for the Falcons franchise.

I would’ve fired Dan Quinn after the Super Bowl loss.

The Falcons went 11-5 in 2016, and the quarterback Matt Ryan won the regular-season MVP award. The stars seemed to be aligned for the Falcons to win their 1st NFL Championship trophy, but tragedy struck and the Falcons became the biggest chokers in NFL history.

I blame Dan Quinn most for the loss because he was the defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks and they lost the Super Bowl in 2015 to the same team due to bad decision-making.

Since the 11-5 record the Falcons had in the 2016 NFL season, they were 10-6 in 2017, 7-9 in 2018, 7-9 in 2019, and they are currently 0-5 in 2020.

It is definitely time for Dan Quinn to go!

Hopefully, Jeff Schultz is getting his information from a reliable source, and Falcons fans can look forward to a new start with a new head coach.

I like Eric Bieniemy as the new head coach for the Falcons, but I would be very surprised if he gets the job.

Who do you think the next Falcons head coach should be?
