Tevin Campbell says he is “truly touched” by the outpouring of love and support he received on Twitter.

In case you missed it, popular blogger and author Luvvie Ajayi came for Tevin’s entire existence when laughed off the idea of him being a part of an Aretha Franklin tribute.

Black Twitter united like the Tribe of Jabari and held the “I’m Ready” singer down while dragging Luvvie through the streets of social media.

By the time it was all said and done, Tevin Campbell was trending on Twitter.

Tevin Campbell took to Twitter on Friday evening to express his gratitude writing:

He also posted a photo of himself and Aretha Franklin with the caption:

The only celebrity that made me nervous…each time I saw her I acted like a nervous fan. The first thing she would say to me was “How is your mom?”

I literally studied every movement, every specific great thing she did with her voice. This queen was/is everything to me. ??

All I want to say is this is would be the optimal time for Tevin hurry up and drop some new music!
