Taraji P. Henson To Produce & Star In Film About Emmett Till, John Singleton To Direct (Video)
While promoting her new movie, “Proud Mary,” Taraji P. Henson revealed she is producing and will star in a film about Emmett Till. Get the scoop.
What’s even sweeter is John Singleton will direct the project.
Taraji told Global Grind, “We don’t have a start date yet, but the deal definitely has been done. That’s one [film] that I’ve been passionate about since Trayvon Martin was murdered.”
The 47-year-old actress will play the Mamie Till-Mobley, the mother of the 14-year-old Emmett, who was brutally murdered by white men for allegedly whistling at a white woman.

I’m so looking forward to this project.
Proud Mary hits theaters on Friday, January 12.
