Taraji P. Henson has issued a public apology to the police officer she accused of racially-profiling her son, Marcell Johnson, during a traffic stop.

Police Release Video To Contradict Taraji P. Henson’s Claims Her Son Was Racially-Profiled During A Traffic Stop

The “Empire” star told Uptown Magazine about two incidents where her son had been profiled by police including a “bogus” traffic stop and on the campus of University of Southern California.

My child has been racially profiled. He was in Glendale, California and did exactly everything the cops told him to do, including letting them illegally search his car. It was bogus because they didn’t give him the ticket for what he was pulled over for.

It appears Marcell hadn’t been totally honest with his mother about what happened during the traffic stop on October 18. The truth surfaced when the Glendale Police Department released video contradicting Taraji’s claims.

In an Instagram post, Taraji P. Henson apologized to the officer and admitted she overreacted. She added a mother’s job is not easy and neither is a police officer’s.

As a mother, I totally understand where Taraji is coming from.

There have been times where my kids sent me into combat mode with their remixes of the truth.

I salute Taraji P. Henson for turning a negative into a positive.
