T.I. was a guest on “Red Table Talk” and broke his silence about his controversial remarks about having his daughter, Deyjah Harris‘ hymen checked by a doctor to ensure she is still a virgin.

During a guest appearance on the “Ladies Like Us” podcast, the rapper and actor boasted about attending his daughter’s visit to the gynecologist to ensure her hymen was “intact” to confirm her virginity.

The remarks sparked a huge debate on social media and everywhere else about whether or not T.I. was being a great and overprotective father or if he was crossing the line and policing his adult daughter’s body.

T.I. now says he was “joking” about having Deyjah’s hymen checked and we are the ones who “misconstrued” and “sensationalized” it.

Firstly, I came to clear up any misconceptions that have been surrounding how we interact and parent and what is appropriate and inappropriate.

My intentions have been terribly misconstrued and misconceived. All of this false narrative has just been sensationalized.

All of this surrounds a conversation that I was having in a very joking manner.

He went on to admit he started out telling his truth as a parent, but I guess the kee kees and attention encouraged him to “exaggerate” and “embellish” his story.

When I was asked how … I deal with parenting in this day and age, I just began to, from a place of truth, I began to embellish and exaggerate and I think a lot of people kinda like took it extremely literal.

My grandmother always called exaggerating and embellishing…”lying.”

If there is a false narrative – it was created by T.I. and his tall..well short tales.
