‘Star’ Season 2 Extended By Fox, Adds 5 Additional Episodes

Fox Extends ‘Star’ Season 2

Fox has announced they are extending “Star” season 2 by adding an additional five episodes to the season.

Ratings for the new season of Lee Daniels‘ hit music drama, starring Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt, have already exceeded the ratings of its debut after only airing two episodes.

Via Variety:

The season-two premiere of “Star” drew a 2.4 18-49 demo rating in Nielsen live-plus-seven numbers, its best number for the series since its debut last season. In seven day multi-platform numbers provided by Fox, the season two premiere drew 7.5 million viewers. “Star” has benefited from a scheduling move that saw it take over the 9 p.m. Wednesday-night time period that had been occupied by Fox’s highest rated show, “Empire,” which now provides a lead-in to “Star” at 8 p.m. Both music dramas are executive produced by Lee Daniels.

Two episodes into its second season, “Star” is averaging a 1.6 Nielsen live-plus-same day rating in the 18-49 demo, up from a 1.3 in season one.

Congrats to the cast and crew!

I’ll be tuned in. How about you?
