Brock Turner, the Stanford University rapist, was released from jail on Friday morning after serving half of his six-month sentence on a sexual assault conviction.
The swimmer attacked an unconscious woman behind a garbage bin on the campus in January 2015.
In March, Turner was convicted of assault with the intent to commit rape of an unconscious person, sexual penetration of an unconscious person and sexual penetration of an intoxicated person – all felonies.
He faced up to 14 years in prison, however, Superior Court Judge Aaron Persky tapped him on the behind with a six-month sentence.
Turner was convicted in March of three felony counts: assault with the intent to commit rape of an unconscious person, sexual penetration of an unconscious person and sexual penetration of an intoxicated person.
